Project Details
The project comprised refurbishment and alterations of a Grade II listed hotel adjacent to Tavistock Square in Central London. The project team’s brief included bedroom and public areas refurbishment and the provision of additional bedrooms.
Working within the constraints of the Grade II listing of the existing building, the construction of a vertical extension, supported off the existing structure, was carefully planned and implemented using a lightweight steel structure. Construction works were undertaken to minimise the impact on existing trade.
Refurbishment works to bedrooms and public areas required significant phasing and sequencing to enable the continued operation of the hotel throughout the works.
The project delivered 150 rooms (new and refurbished), a remodelled bar, restaurant, 7 meeting rooms and improved reception facilities.
Our team provided pre and post-contract RICS Quantity Surveyor services under a Traditional Form of Contract. We were responsible for the development of the initial budget, cost control, procurement, evaluation and recommendation for appointment of Contractor and full post-contract Quantity Surveying services.
