The team of 22 dads including one of our directors Jan Ponsford managed to make it across the line on Saturday. The day starting with torrential rain, thunder and lightning so was not looking promising. Thankfully our wave didn’t start until 2.35pm by which time the sun was out and stayed for the rest of the day. Everyone did fantastically well and it was clear that all the hard work had paid off. Most of the guys had never done a triathlon before but successfully completed it with smiles all round. I managed to trim 15 minutes off my time last year which I was delighted with. It’s amazing what a bit of competition and fantastic support from family and friends on side lines does to spur you on! What a brilliant day.
Also we are now up to £118k in donations (and still rising) for our chosen charity http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/ . This is a record for the charity and for any group at the Blenheim Triathlon so thank you so much for your generosity.
