Supporting International Women’s Day 2021

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:

  • celebrate women’s achievements
  • raise awareness about women’s equality
  • lobby for accelerated gender parity

The campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is ‘Choose To Challenge. A challenged world is an alert world. And from challenge comes change. So let’s all #ChooseToChallenge.

Celebrating the contribution of women within Virtus Consult

All of our team demonstrate their dedication to the business and our clients on a daily basis. On this International Women’s Day we also take the opportunity to recognise the particular challenges of the last 12 months.

Trying to maintain an important role at work whilst balancing the enforced joys of home schooling, either as a parent or – where it has been required – as a supporting grandparent or aunt – has been incredibly tough. Working from home will have brought some families closer together but will also have accentuated existing strains and tensions which will feel so much more acute in the last few months.

So, on this International Women’s Day (which thankfully coincides with the re-opening of schools for many children!) we would like to extend our thanks to some of the fantastic women with whom we have had the pleasure to work over the last 12 months. including Helen Reilly, Lisa Revell, Helen Guest, Rachael Giblin, Nell Lloyd and Felicity Geoghegan.
