Virtus and the project team has successfully achieved a unique 14 hour continuous concrete pour, estimated to be the largest in the East Midlands. Virtus are project managers constructing 2 NDE Test Facilities in Derby for a major blue chip client. The concrete structure has walls and roof 1.5m thick and has been constructed without reinforcement to save cost and programme however the Nuclear shielding will be achieved from the mass concrete. The client is delighted that the whole process went without a hitch due to meticulous planning and attention to detail. It is estimated that this unique approach has achieved 30% reduction in both programme and cost to meet client requirements.
