Virtus have been appointed by Cherwell District Council to act as Construction Project Manager to support delivery of the North West Bicester Eco Business Centre. The Eco Business Centre will be located in the UK’s first Eco-town and will offer up to 20,000 sq. ft (1,800 sq. metres) of flexible employment space as part of a mixed use scheme.
It will attract, support and grow local businesses including start- up companies as well as proving a place to work for residents of North West Bicester and wider town. Work on the residential properties within the Eco-town commenced in early 2014 and is the only UK development built to True Zero Carbon, delivering a 30% reduction in the use of carbon during the build process with zero waste to landfill from site during construction.
The Eco business centre is to be located within the local centre of the exemplar phase, and it is expected to showcase sustainable construction techniques and also achieve True Zero Carbon and BREEAM Excellent. Virtus will guide the process from inception, promoting innovative approaches within OJEU guidelines and ensuring best value in every aspect of the project. We will ensure delivery of this strategic asset in line with the wider plans for Bicester, meeting high sustainability standards and design requirements.
