Virtus Consult assesses solar energy project

Leading construction and management consultancy Virtus Consult, has been engaged by Meggitt PLC to undertake a feasibility study for including a photo-voltaic (PV) array as part of its new £130M ‘super-site’ in Coventry.
Meggitt is a global engineering group specialising in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and energy markets. It is committed to reducing energy consumption and its carbon footprint by 25% over the next 20 years.

Including renewable energy options in the design of large new buildings demonstrates the technology has come of age; it’s no longer new, but now.

Our work will see our experienced consultants assess various scenarios, including exporting any excess energy back to the grid or charging batteries for use at night, in a determined effort to reduce reliance on traditional energy solutions.
Undertaking feasibility studies of this nature, on this scale is second nature for us, but there are a huge number of variables that affect the final recommendations.
