Andrew Ogilvie - Director

Andrew is the founding director of Virtus Consult; a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, and the driving force behind the sustainable growth of the business.

He is a respected Project and Commercial Management professional with over 25 years of experience successfully delivering projects and programmes of varying size and complexity across our target sectors - including one-off housing projects, retail roll-out programmes, urban regeneration schemes, international commercial office relocation programmes ....and even a nuclear fuel production plant.

As the founding director, Andrew has sought to develop a cohesive management team that promotes growth and stability within the business, but he remains actively engaged in the delivery of projects for our clients with the support of the wider business.

Renowned for his (mostly) good humour (and voracious appetite!!) Andrew is also known in the office for his underutilised gym membership and for almost completing the Birmingham Velo in 2019!

Tim Hartle - Director

Tim is the Director in charge of major design and build and large traditional contracts

With over thirty years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, he has worked in private practice and also for construction companies and housing developers.

Tim has led a number of high profile schemes in the East Midlands, acting as Project Manager/Employer’s Agent/Quantity Surveyor for clients in the Care, Manufacturing, Residential and Hospitality Sectors.

In addition, Tim also provides extensive advice to major accountancy firms in respect of building related insolvencies, including novating contracts to replacement contractors, advice on the most favourable form of insolvency to maximise realisations and debt management/collection.

Chris Howard - Director

Chris joined the business as a school leaver and over twenty years’ has developed his career to become a director of the business.

He has led a number of projects across most market sectors
worked on a variety of projects with the responsibility for carrying out Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent functions, both pre and post contract, on a number of new build, extension and refurbishment projects. This includes care homes, residential buildings, youth service buildings, schools, visitor’s centres, industrial/ commercial developments for both local and national companies.

Over the past seven years Chris has primarily been responsible as Quantity Surveyor, Contract Administrator and Employers Agent working with the Property Department of Bupa Care Services. During this time he has been involved with various extension, refurbishment and new build Care Homes spanning across England, Scotland and Wales.

In addition to the above, Chris is experienced as a specialised Bank Monitoring Surveyor and as an Advisor in building related insolvencies. Chris has also previously acted as an Expert Witness.
