Sheffield Energy Centre

Sheffield Energy Centre

Virtus have been appointed by Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS FT to undertake the design and management of a new Energy Centre for the Longley Centre, the Trusts main clinical site in Sheffield. Virtus provided full design team services to the Trust working with P&HS Architects, CAD21 M&E Engineers and Curtins Structural Engineers to undertake a detailed design and planning application for the proposed energy centre and new electrical supply for the Longley Centre. The new facility replaces the existing electrical infrastructure for the building which is beyond natural life expectancy and provides a new independent electrical supply for the building and the facility. This infrastructure phase is critical to ensure that the Trust can continue to deliver clinical services from the building and allows the Trust to have electrical certainty for the next phase of redevelopment of the facility. The scheme achieved planning approval in September and is due to be on site in 2016.
