Oxford Brookes University and Virtus knowledge Transfer Partnership – Energy Performance Programme Analyst

Having recently graduated from the University of Ulster, James Carson has joined Virtus Consult as an Energy Performance Programme Analyst.

The post is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Oxford Brookes University and Virtus. James will be leading a 2 year project to refine and promote a holistic methodology for enhancing energy performance in existing buildings.

The partnership will allow Virtus to diversify and expand their proven energy sustainability workload and associated client base. James will develop both personally and professionally whilst developing a robust, efficient and targeted delivery model based on client feedback and market intelligence. Virtus will have a deeper and stronger expertise in the energy and sustainability field whilst building a relationship with Oxford Brookes’ Department of Real Estate and Construction. Oxford Brookes will also offer support for the promotion and marketing of Virtus’ services.

James says: “I was overjoyed when I was offered the position with Virtus. Of all the jobs and companies I had looked at, Virtus stood out to me. For a young company to have achieved so much and worked with such high-profile clients, it speaks volumes. I felt the position was well matched to my experience, degree and that the job would give me real responsibility and a chance to prove myself. Moving over to Birmingham from Northern Ireland was a bit daunting, but everyone at Virtus has been very welcoming and I have settled in really well. I am looking forward to getting stuck into this project and gaining experience that I will carry through for the rest of my career.”
