The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is established by the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme Regulations 2014 (ESOS Regulations).
ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for organisations in the UK which have a business comprising more than 250 staff or a turnover of £40m and a Balance Sheet of more than £35m.
Organisations that qualify for ESOS must carry out ESOS assessments every 4 years. These assessments are audits of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost-effective energy saving measures.
Organisations must notify the Environment Agency by 5th December 2015 that they have complied with their ESOS obligations, non – compliance may result in civil penalties up to £40k. Organisations are responsible for maintaining evidence of compliance.
Virtus can help you achieve compliance by 5th December. With minimal input from your organisation we can:
- Work with you to analyse existing work
- Undertake Energy Audits
- Provide your Lead Assessor
- Prepare the evidence pack
- Report the compliance to the EA
