Graven Hill will be the UK’s largest self and custom-build development, established in the belief that not every new home owner wants to purchase off-plan, on a new development.
Virtus Consult have been supporting Graven Hill and the first ten ‘Pioneer’ developers, managing their technical and contractual responsibilities, to ensure the transition from greenfield to completed homes is as efficient and transparent as practicable. Our team was appointed to manage the hugely challenging stakeholder relationships associated with the delivery of the first ten plots; the ‘pioneers’, many of whom have no experience of house building.
As this project paves the way for the remaining 1,890 plots, the pioneers story was being filmed for a TV programme, which only added complexity to the project delivery.
In addition to managing the pioneers and guiding each through the process of site acquisition, infrastructure availability, design, construction, we have been developing the processes and procedures to enable future efficiencies in the self-build process.
With the pioneers now adequately progressed, we are now focused on project managing the delivery of the show homes that will support the wider marketing of the unique Graven Hill approach. The process will reflect that followed by the pioneers, but will be further streamlined to reduce future reliance on our services in coordinating the purchaser/developer activities.
